Most motor manufacturers today recommend this type of “close” protection. All Moeller series ZE overload relays come with a host of standard features including phase-failure sensitivity, temperature compensation, test / reset buttons and a tripfree release. The auxiliary contacts of the relay disconnect the motor contactor and signal a fault. Moeller series relays can also be used for protecting EExe hazardous location motors.
